About
My name is Pavel. I’m a senior deep learning and machine learning engineer at Illumina, working at the intersection of deep learning and genomics. Before returning to Illumina, I was a postdoctoral fellow at UT Southwestern Medical Center. I completed a Ph.D. in Mathematics at The George Washington University and previously worked with the Computational Biology Institute and the National Human Genome Research Institute.
Over the years, my work has included variant calling, DNA synthesis, sequence-to-function models, diffusion models, genome assembly, genome rearrangements, and many other topics across computational biology, machine learning, and computer science.
